Aloha and welcome to our Wicked 8 Lava page! We are incredibly excited to share our journey with you! A short walk through areas that were once covered with volcanic ash leads to a giant open view of fissure 8, The Largest on the 24 fissures the erupted in 2018. You will see many varieties of trees and plants everything re-planted since 2018, there will be plenty of time for sharing pictures and videos along the way of what it looked like before, during, and after the eruption. Guests will be able to experience the 2018 lava flow up close and personal with guides who lived through it. We also offer plenty of recommendations of other fun things to do in the area! Including Food spots, hiking, snorkeling, tide pools, museums, waterfalls and thermally heated hot ponds! We are a dog, cat and goat friendly farm. . You may choose between a hiking only experience or hiking + E-biking experience, call for more info! Aloha, My name is Stacy Welch and either I or Maddy will be your Guide. I was born and raised on Oahu but spent 35 years in California raising my kids, horses and dogs. I have a ranching & farming background mixed with the love of the outdoors. I bought an acre in Leilani Estates and built my tiny home only to experience one of the largest most destructive eruptions in this area in over two hundred years ! I Moved to the big island in 2017 my daughter Maddy soon followed in 2018, 3 months prior to the eruption! She was only 19 at the time! We were evacuated from our home for 9 months. My tiny home survived by 160 feet. Having gone thru this amazing event, I have found healing in sharing our story.
